Blythe Doll Challenges

This month Tanya S and I decided we were going too set ourselves a few challenges.

The first challenge was to enter the Blythedoll.com competition.
Each month a theme is set.
The work is then selected and uploaded by the editorial department.
Then a lucky someone is rewarded each month with the "Junko's select award" in which they receive a Junie Moon original Blythe doll dress.
It can be any form of art, illustration, sculpture, handicrafts, you name it all you have to do is take a photograph and upload it.

July's theme was "Stripes and Marine" and the winner is notified on the 5th day of the following month. You can also go through all of the submissions and winners of the previous months entries.
These are our submissions for this months theme:

The Second Challenge we have joined in on is the "Plastic Paradise Island Couture Challenge".

The first challenge they have set is the following:

In this day and age of reuse and repurposing, we thought it would be fun too see if Blythe owners could get into the act and whip up some classy couture for their doll from paper or plastic. You can use old magazines, tissue paper, sandwich baggies, trash bags, construction paper, food wrappers, bottles, grocery bags and or anything that you would find that would qualify as paper or plastic. Your items can be glued, sewn fused and have embellished with trim, buttons, sequins, beads or anything else you can think of to use. The categories for the contest are as follows:

1. Paper Couture

2. Plastic Couture

3. Mixed Media Couture (meaning a combination of the 2)

I am yet to start my design, I was going to do paper, then plastic, then paper, then plastic...

I just cant decide...

Miss Sydney sets off to New Caledonia today

Well, we said goodbye to Miss Sydney today as she set off to New Caledonia. This gorgeous girl has been in my care for the past few months and I think she was definitely ready to get started on her travels.

I know she's going to have an awesome time in New Caledonia with Angelique (wish it were me going too, as I love NC) and we all look forward to hearing and seeing what she does get up to.

Big hugs and kisses as we wave goodbye.

Birth of a new Blythe Doll Blog.

It’s a special day for me today! Not only is it my Birthday BUT it’s also the birth of a new Blythe Doll Blog.

Today is the launch of “Lollitams” a collaboration of the Lollipoppet and Tamsart label.

Over the many years we have known each other we have come to realize we have so much in common it would only be fitting to do a joint Blog!

So….for the people who have just stumbled across this blog, just to confuse you here is a little about us…

Well, we are both “Tanya’s”, married, mothers of 2 girls and we love to create unique items, with a special interest in Blythe Dolls….

Tanya S is based in Sydney whilst I am based in Melbourne Australia but that isn’t going to stop us from showcasing all things Blythe (with hints of other doll varieties) as well as having photos of our art, handmade creations and giveaways!

A week has past since the National Blythe “Birthday Party” themed event which was held in Adelaide Australia. The feedback on http://www.weplaywithdolls.net/forums/ has been fabulous and was enjoyed by all. Its great seeing all the photos that everyone has uploaded to the dedicated flickr group http://www.flickr.com/groups/blythemeet2010/.

This year there were some amazingly talented Blythe creators who donated items for the special day and I was gobsmacked at what was up for grabs!
Both Tanya and I donated items which were door prizes and the goodie bags!

Please browse around and enjoy your stay here we hope you follow us on our Journey ^_^ Thank you!……
